ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT

We recognise the relationship between our activities and effects on the local and global environment and strive to minimise impacts to the natural and built environments and to local communities.

R M Starling Sweepers Ltd is committed to the following principles:

  • Compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and other requirements to which we subscribe which relate to our environmental aspects
  • Continual improvement in environmental performance through the development of appropriate objectives and targets and implementation of actions plans
  • Prevention of pollution and minimisation of potential environmental impacts

We will demonstrate our commitment to these principles by:

  • Identifying and evaluating the environmental aspects and impacts associated with our activities and putting in place action plans to achieve objectives and targets for improvement
  • Assessing the potential environmental impacts of contracts at tender stage and identifying appropriate mitigation measures, which particular attention to;
    • Using raw materials efficiently, promoting the use of recycled products and the efficient of energy
    • Reducing the amount of waste produced and wherever practicable ensuring that such waste is recycled or disposed of with minimum impact on the environment
    • Storing and using fuel and materials in such a way as to reduce the potential risk of pollution
  • Developing environmental standards to which we will all work to manage our significant aspects
  • Regularly monitor and communicating our environmental policy through a programme of training
  • Developing an approach to purchasing goods and services and communicating with our contractors to ensure that our suppliers meet our environmental standards
  • Working with our clients to achieve best environmental practice on each and every contract.

This policy shall be communicated and displayed at our main workshop, made available to the public on request and will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains relevant to our activities.
